"Teach those who are rich in this world not to be proud and not to trust in their money, which is so unreliable. Their trust should be in God, who richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment"   1 Timothy 6:17, NLT

God is not against you having money.  He warns against trusting in money.  He cautions not to put money before Him.  He is the One who gives us richly all things to enjoy so why would we love the things He's given more than He Himself who gives?

The Lord wants you to be blessed with good things.  He told the Israelites right before they entered into the Promised Land:

"For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land of flowing streams and pools of water, with fountains and springs that gush out in the valleys and hills. It is a land of wheat and barley; of grapevines, fig trees, and pomegranates; of olive oil and honey.  It is a land where food is plentiful and nothing is lacking. It is a land where iron is as common as stone, and copper is abundant in the hills. Deuteronomy 8:7-9, NLT

The Lord was bringing them into a land of blessing!  A land of abundance!  But He did give them a warning along with it:

"But that is the time to be careful!  Beware that in your plenty you do not forget the Lord your God and disobey his commands, regulations, and decrees that I am giving you today. For when you have become full and prosperous and have built fine homes to live in, and when your flocks and herds have become very large and your silver and gold have multiplied along with everything else, be careful!  Do not become proud at that time and forget the Lord your God, who rescued you from slavery in the land of Egypt...He did all this so you would never say to yourself, ‘I have achieved this wealth with my own strength and energy.’"  Deuteronomy 8:11-14, 17, NLT

He gives a warning not to forget the Lord and He told them back in verse 10 what to do in order to keep from forgetting the Lord:

"When you have eaten your fill, be sure to praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you,"  Deuteronomy 8:10, NLT

We make it a practice to pray and thank God for our food before we eat, but He says here to bless the Lord after you eat and are full.  Thanksgiving is a key to help you not to forget the Lord when you are enjoying His blessings.  Make it a practice to thank the Lord immediately after enjoying His great blessings.  This will help you not to forget Him who gives us richly all things to enjoy!

God Bless you and have a great day!
