"If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home." Psalm 91:9-10, NLT This scripture says that when you make the Lord your shelter and place of refuge then no evil will conquer you and no plague will come near your home. That is an awesome promise! What an encouragement to draw close to the Lord and to stay close to Him as a place of refuge and a permanent dwelling. When all is well, it may be tempting to slip away from the Lord and forget that you need to remain close to Him, but now is the time to remember Him and express your thankfulness to Him for the protection and blessing He's given you. The time to draw close to God is not only when things are bad, but when things are good. In fact, it's better to come close to Him before tough times hit so when they do you are already confident of His love for you. Then you will respond to trouble His way and not impulsively. One promise concerning health and healing is found in Proverbs: "My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body." Proverbs 4:20-22, NLT The Word of God will teach you. It will instruct you in His ways. God's words are full of wisdom and when you live by them you will find life and health. When you follow your own opinion you end up on an unhealthy path--spiritually, emotionally and physically. But when you keep God's Word in front of your eyes and in your heart then they become life and healing to you. God Bless you and have a great day!
