Finances Lousy

"Let them shout for joy and be glad, Who favor my righteous cause; And let them say continually, 'Let the LORD be magnified, Who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.'”Psalm 35:27 NKJ

When you're going through difficult financial times you need to first of all be assured that God wants you to have your needs taken care of.  Not only does He wants your basic needs taken care of but He would love for you to prosper and have an abundance!  He wants you to know this and be assured of this in your heart!

Keeping that in mind, I think one of the biggest thief's of God's blessing is what I call the "lack mentality".  The lack mentality is when you get stuck in a rut of focusing on the areas you feel you are lacking to the point where you are unable to maintain a thankful heart to the Lord.  The wisdom, blessing and prosperity of God flourishes from a peaceful heart.  And a peaceful heart is a thankful heart.  A thankful heart is one that is not looking at what you need, but at what you have already that you can be thankful for.  This kind of heart is not demanding of God, but thankful for everything He has done no matter how small.

"Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.  Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."  Philippians 4:6-7 NLT

Instead of praying in a way to remind God over and over again what your need is and begging Him to do something, You can let your requests be made known to Him WITH THANKSGIVING.  Why with thanksgiving?  Because thankfulness shows your humility and submission to God.  It shows that you appreciate everything He does for you.  How many of you like to give to a kid who is spoiled and demanding?  Wouldn't you rather give to a child who is happy over every little thing you do?

What you really need is peace in your heart.  With peace in your heart you can face whatever situation you need to.  And that peace will come as you pray with a thankful heart.  Still pray, don't quit praying and letting Him know your requests, but do so with an attitude of thanksgiving.  You'll find that your situation will not seem so bad and it will be easier to believe that God will help you through this struggle as you thank Him for what He's already done for you.

God Bless you and have a better day!
