"Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I." Psalm 61:1-2 When you need direction from the Lord, and especially when it seems to be urgent, you need to be led to the rock that is higher than you. You need to see things from a perspective that's higher than your own. You need the vantage point of the rock--The Rock. From your viewpoint in life you may not make decisions that are the best. If you are just relying on your own natural knowledge, intelligence, or experience then it may not be enough for you to make a good decision. But when you add the knowledge and perception of God then you will make the right choices. At times you may put off making decisions you need to make because you're afraid of making the wrong one. But you can't allow fear to stop you from making a choice. You need to trust in the Lord to take care of you. When you are afraid, it makes it more difficult to see the direction the Lord is leading you. You don't get a very good view from hiding behind the rock! You're supposed to be standing on the rock! In whatever area you need guidance, go to the Word of God first and follow that. You can get a lot of direction just from following the Word of God. When you live your life the way the Lord has laid out in the Word--when you are honest, fair, kind, a person of integrity etc. then that will help you in a lot of the choices you need to make. And for any guidance you need beyond that then know that when you pray and ask the Lord to lead you-He will. He will answer your prayers for guidance. "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" Matthew 7:7 Don't be afraid, but follow the peace in your heart. God will speak to your heart. That's where He gives direction. So instead of focusing on and magnifying the problem, focus on Him. Magnify Him. Seek Him and you will find the direction you need in Him! God Bless you and have a better day!
