It’s more important than
ever that we pray for the leaders of our country, whatever country we might live
in. The Bible tells us that supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of
thanks should be
made for all men;
“for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and
peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.” (1 Timothy 2:2)
Pray for our leaders!
Father God,
We pray for
the Leaders of
our country. We pray that they recognize You as the one true
God. We pray that they humble their hearts before You and that they
accept Your Son Jesus Christ as the sacrifice for their sin. We pray You give them wisdom and
insight for their leadership position. We pray You
reveal Your plan to them. We pray that they follow Your plan and as they
do that You reveal the plans of the enemy to
them, that You expose the plans of the enemy before they are implemented--The
enemy that would try and stop your plans and who would try and destroy Your
people. We pray that as You showed the plans of the enemy to Elisha, You do so now to our
leaders (2 Kings 6:8-12).
We ask for forgiveness for those in our nation who have
laughed at You, mocked You, and openly rebelled against You and Your Word.
We ask that You show them that You are real. Show them Your goodness. Show
them Your truth. We ask for forgiveness for the Church who has professed
to know You but in works has denied You (Titus 1:16). We ask for
forgiveness for having a form of godliness but denying Your power (2 Timothy
3:5). We ask for forgiveness for not seeking You and Your truth but for
following our own ideas, plans and theologies.
We pray for Your goodness to be revealed for the goodness of
God leads to repentance (Romans 2:4). We pray the light of the glorious
Gospel of Jesus Christ shine in the hearts of those who don’t believe so they
can see Your truth and be saved (2 Corinthians 4:4-6). Father God, let us
see Your glory, Your goodness, Your mercy, love, grace and truth.
Your Word says that no weapon formed against us
will prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that no evil will befall us and no plague will
come near our dwelling (Psalm 91:10). Father God, we call on You. We
ask that You show to all people in this country and to the world that You are the true
God. That You, who created the Heaven and the Earth, are alive
today. We pray that Jesus Christ Your Son be lifted up so all men will be
drawn to Him (John 12:32). We pray the Gospel of Jesus Christ be preached
so all men will know how to come to You. We pray that you take what the
enemy means for evil and turn it
around for good. For You to be glorified in this country. For all
people to see that You are the defense of Your people and our help in times of trouble (Psalm
41:1, 59:16). We pray for all people to see that You have made a way for
the hearts of sinful men to be changed through Your Son Jesus Christ.
We call on You for forgiveness, grace and mercy. We call
on You for help and strength. We call on You to show Your glory and to
show all people who You are. In the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ we pray, Amen.
