April 10 2 Corinthians 13:5
5: Examine and test and evaluate your own selves, to see whether you are holding to your faith and showing the proper fruits of it. Test and prove yourselves, not Christ. Do you not yourselves realize and know thoroughly by an ever-increasing experience that Jesus Christ is in you? Unless you are counterfeits disapproved on trial and rejected! Amplified Bible Jesus Christ is in us if we are truly Christians. If we have sincerely accepted Him as Lord and Savior, we’ve been born-again in our spirits. It doesn’t matter what we feel like or what our past teachings and experiences may be. The Word of God says if we believe in Him, if we confess Him as Lord and Savior, then we are born-again and become new creatures in Christ. We become born from above and have the life and nature of God imparted to us (Romans 10:9,10, 2 Corinthians 5:17, John 1:12-13, 1 Peter 1:23). Paul is saying here to examine ourselves to see whether we are in the faith. Prove our own selves. If we search our hearts and truly believe in Him, if we are really ‘in the faith’ then Jesus Christ dwells in us. We have His life in us and we can live our lives by His power and not ours. We can live with His might, strength and wisdom.
Confession: I examine myself to see if I am in the faith. I search my heart. I believe in Jesus Christ that He died and rose again for me to become righteous. Because of my faith in Him He dwells in me. It doesn’t matter what I feel like, the Word of God says if I believe in Him I am His child. Thank You Jesus.
