To be or not to be
2 Corinthians 13:11

11: Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.

In his closing remarks to the Corinthians, Paul gives some encouraging words.  The King James says, ‘be perfect.’  The Amplified Bible expands that to say, ‘be strengthened, perfected, completed, made what you ought to be.’

As God perfects His work in us we will become what we ought to be.  We will be all that He has planned and destined for us to be.  He says to "Be" perfect, "Be" of good comfort etc...  The fact that he says to "be" these things means that we have control and choice in the matter.  He wouldn’t say to "be" or "do" something if it was something that was beyond our control.

We can’t make ourselves perfect but we can receive what Jesus Christ has done for us.  We can allow Him to do His work in us.  We can receive His comfort.   We can choose to be agreeable and live in peace and as we do the God of love and peace will be with us.

Confession:

I choose to be all that God wants me to be.  I allow Him to do His work in me.   I receive His work in my life, I receive His comfort.  I choose to be agreeable and live in peace.  I will be what He says be and I know He who is the source of love and peace will be with me.

Obedience is a tree of life!
