Stand fast therefore... Because of all the he has just said concerning being free from trying to earn salvation by religious works, he says to stand fast.  Stand fast or hold firm to the liberty we have in Christ.  Don’t be tangled up in bondage again.  Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

If Jesus Christ really paid the price for our salvation, if He really took the punishment necessary to make us free from sin, spiritual death and bondage, then why would we need anything else for us to be saved?

The work Jesus did for us to become children of God is enough.  The blood Jesus shed is enough.  We are not going to improve upon what He did by doing anything any better.  We have to admit we can’t please God on our own without Jesus.   There’s no way we can keep the whole law like Jesus did. He did it for us.   The more we realize that the deeper our faith in Him will be.  We can’t take any credit at all for our salvation.
