Restoration of Fellow Believers
Galatians 6:1-3

1: Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
2: Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
3: For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.

Rather than being quick to judge another person who is overtaken in a fault, he tells us to restore them in a spirit of meekness.  Too often the church has turned their nose up at those who have stumbled rather than picking them up and bringing healing and restoration to their life.

As we help them up out of their trouble this is how we ‘bear one another’s burdens.’  This is how we show we don’t think we’re too good for them.   We get down to where they are and help them up.  He says to consider yourself lest you also be tempted.  We should never think so highly of ourselves to think that we could never fall.  We stand by the grace of God and by faith.  We should always be alert and attentive to the Word of God and how our lives line up with the Word.

 Confession:

I will not judge those who stumble.  I will not turn my nose up at them.  I will not gossip about them or slander them.  I will restore those who are overtaken in a fault with a spirit of meekness.  I realize I am no better than anyone else and I will stay attentive to the Word.

Obedience is a tree of life!
