25: Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.

Often we don’t think of lying as ‘that bad of a sin’.  But sin is sin.  All of it leads us away from the Lord.  There’s a reason we’re told these things.  They’re for our own benefit not because God is a control freak.

In Hebrews 12:6-11 it says God chastens us for our own profit so we can be partakers of His holiness.  For us to be in right standing with God, fellowshipping with Him and walking in His holiness is a powerful thing.  There’s no place we’ll ever be more satisfied or more fulfilled or more at peace or content then when we’re in right relationship with God.

By choosing to live according to God’s Word in every area of our life, our relationship and fellowship with Him will increase more and more.

Confession:

I will not lie.  I will speak the truth in love.  I desire to live according to the truth.  I will live according to how God says to live knowing that He has my best interests at heart.
