Don’t Grieve the Holy Spirit
Ephesians 4:30

30: And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

We grieve the Holy Spirit when we don’t allow Him to move how He wants to.  He is all about ministering to people and strengthening people, comforting and giving insight and truth into people’s lives.  When we get in the way of what He wants to do it grieves Him.  We need to be sensitive to how the Spirit of God wants to move in every area of our life.

When we are so wrapped up in our own lives and problems (or victories), we can grieve the Holy Spirit because we’re not thinking of how He wants to minister to others.   That’s not to say He never wants to minister to us and meet our needs—He does.  And we can grieve Him by not allowing Him to minister to us also.  The more we receive His love and ministry to us the stronger we become.

It is by the Holy Spirit that we are sealed or secured as one of God’s own.   Because of that we are (and will be), redeemed and delivered in the end.  He has sealed us to ensure our final deliverance.  We should be careful not to grieve or sadden Him in any way.

Confession:

I will not grieve the Holy Spirit.  Forgive me Father if I have.  I will be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and what He wants to do.  Thank You for my deliverance and redemption!

Obedience is a tree of life!
