Imitators of Him
Ephesians 5:1-2

 

1: Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
2: And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

Be followers or imitators of God.  If you’re a parent you know how it touches your heart when your children imitate you.  As children imitate their natural parents so should we imitate our Heavenly Father.   How?  By following Jesus’ example.

Jesus said in John 14:9 that he who has seen Him has seen the Father.  I would say that’s a pretty good imitation of the Father.  We can do the same.  And the biggest indicator of whether we are imitating Him is if we’re walking in love.   Just as Christ loved us and gave Himself for us so should we have the same kind of love for one another.

 

Confession:

I am a follower and imitator of my Heavenly Father.  I look to Jesus as my example of how to be like the Father.  I walk in love as Christ loved us and gave Himself for us.

Obedience is a tree of life!
