That which had been entrusted to Timothy, and is entrusted to us, is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  The Word of God, the message of Jesus Christ has been given to us and we are entrusted with it.  We must guard it and not allow "worldly and empty chatter" lead us away from the Word of God in our lives.

We must avoid the "opposing arguments of what is falsely called knowledge."  Those without an understanding of God and His Word will be full of so-called "knowledge" that is not true knowledge at all.  People may be "knowledgeable" about many things but if it’s not knowledge of the Truth it’s more dangerous and harmful than it is good.

We must guard the Word of God in our hearts so we may live accordingly.  If we lose it ourselves we can’t bring it to the lost.  But when the Word of God is within us and we keep it safe within us as you would keep money safe in a bank then we can draw from it and we can take the message of Jesus Christ to others!

Confession:

I will guard the Word of God that has been entrusted to me.  I will avoid worldly and empty chatter.  I will avoid the false knowledge, which contradicts the Word of God.  I will hold to the Word of God within me and bring the message of Jesus Christ to the lost.
