Words about Work
Titus 2:9-10

  1. [Tell] bond servants to be submissive to their masters, to be pleasing and give satisfaction in every way. [Warn them] not to talk back or contradict,
  2. Nor to steal by taking things of small value, but to prove themselves truly loyal and entirely reliable and faithful throughout, so that in everything they may be an ornament and do credit to the teaching [which is from and about] God our Savior. (Amplified Bible).

In the same way that bond servants are told to be submissive to their masters we could say we need to have this attitude towards our employers.  We are working for our employers and being paid to do a job and we need to have a submissive attitude not a rebellious attitude towards our place of employment.

We shouldn’t talk back or steal, but prove ourselves to be loyal, reliable and faithful.  In doing so we give credit to what we teach and preach about God.

If we speak against our boss(es) and our employers and then turn around and preach about the power of God to transform lives, yet we are no different from those who are not believers, then how can we expect anyone to believe what we say?  How are we a testimony to the power of God to enable people to live right?  Our words and actions in all areas of our lives need to be a testimony to the goodness, grace and power of God.

Confession:

I will not speak against my place of employment.  I will not be rebellious, but I will be submissive, first of all always being submissive to God.  I will prove myself to be loyal, reliable and faithful and I will expect my testimony to give glory to God!

Obedience is a tree of life!
