Confidence in the Authority of His Word
Titus 2:15

  1. Tell [them all] these things. Urge (advise, encourage, warn) and rebuke with full authority. Let no one despise or disregard or think little of you—conduct yourself and your teaching so as to command respect. (Amplified Bible).

Paul is encouraging Titus to tell the people things they need to hear about how God desires for us to live and about what Jesus did for us, which enables us to live for Him the way we should.

He tells him to rebuke if he needs to rebuke with full authority.  He says not to let anyone despise him or think little of him.  He needed to have confidence that when he’s bringing the Word of God to someone for correction that He can be confident that the Word of God is correct.

The Word of God is the authority of God and we do not need to apologize for it or compromise or water it down to please people.  We must stick to it undoubtedly and know that it is the truth.  Of course our attitude must always be love and not a vicious attitude of trying to prove people wrong or show how much we know.  But when we need to give the Word of God to bring correction we can do so with full confidence that we’re speaking with God’s authority.

Confession:

I will speak the Word of God in such a way that I know it is the authority of God.  Not out of pride or arrogance but out of love and responsibility to speak the Truth.

Obedience is a tree of life!
