Fruitful Lives
Titus 3:14

  1. And let our [own people really] learn to apply themselves to good deeds—to honest labor and honorable employment—so that they may be able to meet necessary demands whenever the occasion may require and not be living idle and uncultivated and unfruitful lives. (Amplified Bible).

In this instance, he’s not talking about good deeds in the sense of going around doing good for others.  He’s talking about earning an honest wage so you can pay your bills and meet any other needs as they arise.  We need to maintain honest employment so we’re able to meet necessary needs, so we’re not living unfruitful lives.  He’s saying not to be unfruitful.  Our lives should produce something worthwhile.

Even if you don’t need to work at a place of employment to pay your bills because you have other means of income, you still need to do something fruitful with your life.  This is an area we need to pray and seek the Lord as to what He specifically wants us to do with our time.

But if you have needs and no income to meet those needs and you are physically able, then He wants you to earn an income to provide for your needs.  You don’t need to pray so much as to if He wants you to work but trust Him as you look for employment to lead you where He wants you to be.

Confession:

I will not live an unfruitful life.  I will earn an honest living through the fruit of my labor and I trust God to show me specifically where and how to spend my time and efforts.

Obedience is a tree of life!
