The Longsuffering of the Lord is Salvation
2 Peter 3:15

  1. And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
  1. And consider that the long-suffering of our Lord [His slowness in avenging wrongs and judging the world] is salvation, [that which conduces to the soul’s safety]; even as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the spiritual insight given him, The Amplified Bible

As we saw the other day, the Lord doesn’t forget the promises He makes.  If He spoke something it will come to pass.  He is longsuffering or patient.  If He is slow to come and avenge wrongs it’s because of His desire for people to be saved.

God’s love, mercy and patience towards man is so great!  He doesn’t want to see anyone perish.  He doesn’t take pleasure in seeing people die and go to hell.  His desire is for everyone to come to repentance.  His desire is to forgive and cleanse everyone from their sin.  This is why He’s holding out so long before He comes.  We’re told to consider this.

We need to remember this because we are His body in the earth and He needs us to take our place in the body so we can do the work He wants done prior to His return.

Confession:

I will remember the patience of the Lord is salvation.  I will remember the great love He has for mankind.  I will take my place in the body and help accomplish what needs to be done for the Kingdom before He comes.

Obedience is a tree of life!
