Don’t Lose What You’ve Gained
2 John 7-8
  1. For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
  2. Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.

He warns to watch so as not to lose those things that they have worked for, the things they have gained, but that they receive a full reward.  There are ‘many deceivers’ who are out there who do not believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  The advancement we make for the Kingdom of God can be lost if we are led astray by a doctrine other than that of Jesus Christ.

We’re to persevere in the doctrine of Jesus Christ so we can fulfill that which He has called and equipped us to do.  We are the body of Christ in the earth today and we are the ones who carry out His plans and purposes here (Not our plans and purposes but His plan and purposes).

We are to ‘look to ourselves’ or watch ourselves so we do not depart from the truth and lose what we’ve gained for Him.

 

Confession:

I will watch myself so that I’m not led astray by teachings other than the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  As I do, I will not lose what I have accomplished for the Kingdom of God.

Obedience is a tree of life!
