December 26 2 John 10
This may seem like a harsh or closed-minded statement. If anyone comes to you and does not bring the doctrine of Christ, don’t receive him into your house and don’t bid him God speed (or a greeting or encouragement). The Bible warns against false teachers and prophets. We may feel we want to show them the love of God and the truth of Jesus Christ but we must be careful not to encourage or condone teachings that are contrary to the doctrine of Christ. This is the problem with those who say you can believe whatever you want to believe and as long as you believe it it’s true. The Bible doesn’t teach that. The Truth is the Truth. The Bible teaches for us to seek the Truth. If we are to seek the Truth then it can’t be that everyone already has the Truth because then we wouldn’t need to seek it. God’s Word is Truth (John 17:17). Jesus is the Truth (John 14:6). And if we seek it in Him and in His Word we’ll find it! We can’t compromise by receiving those who teach contrary to Jesus Christ.
Confession: I will not receive into my house those who do not bring the doctrine of Jesus Christ. I will not encourage or condone them and their doctrine. I will stick to the Truth of the Word of God and the doctrine of Jesus Christ.
Obedience is a tree of life!
