December 29 Jude 17-19
Jude was warning of false teachers and those who are ungodly who commit ungodly deeds, walking after their own lusts. He says here to remember what was spoken by the apostles. How there would be mockers in the last days who would walk after their own ungodly lusts. He’s saying this to prepare and warn the church that these types of people will be around and we need to watch out so we don’t become deceived by their teaching. Back in verse 16 he says walking according to their passion or lust they are murmurers and complainers and that they are boastful, arrogant and yet flattering with their words in order to gain advantage. Just because someone says nice things about us or is a smooth talker and seems to know what they’re talking about is no reason for us to believe them or follow them. We need to heed the warning given here and judge by a person’s fruit or actions and not just their words.
Confession: I will not follow those who are ungodly, who are mockers or scoffers, or those who are all talk but do not produce godly fruit.
Obedience is a tree of life!
