When you build a house you need to have a strong foundation.  To grow as a Christian you need a strong foundation as well.  You need to be sure of your "calling (invitation) and election (selection)."  If you waver about your calling into the family of God and about His choosing you for His own, then you won’t be able to progress very far without stumbling.

The foundation of your faith is knowing God's invitation to you.  Hebrews 11:6 says he who comes to God must believe that He is (that He exists), and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.  You need to know that He is a rewarder.  You need to know that He has invited you and chosen you to be a part of His family.  That is the foundation you build your life upon.

Just as you respond to His invitation, He responds to your efforts of coming to Him in faith by rewarding you with eternal life and an entrance into His kingdom.  And He continues to reward those who come to Him in faith concerning all of His promises.

Confession:

I give diligence to make my calling and election sure.  I remain sure and steadfast about my invitation and selection for the kingdom of God.  I know God has invited me and chosen me to be a part of His own family.  As a result of this, I will never fall.  I will never quit progressing in the kingdom of God.
