These daily devotionals are based on scriptures in the New Testament, particularly in the epistles - which are not meant to be suggestions.  Statements such as "let brotherly love continue" are things we are told to do, not suggested we do.  As you read through these devotionals, you will notice that the portion of scripture that is underlined is that part of the scripture which gives us a command.

These scriptures can lead us into tremendous blessing because along with every command from God we have a choice of whether or not we will do it.  Adam and Eve had the opportunity to obey God and chose not to, with devastating consequences.  We have an awesome opportunity today to do what God says and if we do, we will be blessed for it.

Joshua 1:8:

This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

As you take these scriptures to heart you are setting yourself up to prosper and have good success!

Obedience is a tree of life!
