Perfectly Joined Together
1 Corinthians 1:10

10: Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

That sounds like an impossible task to have that kind of unity in the body of Christ doesn't it?  For all God's people to think the same way and speak the same way may seem far-fetched yet Paul inspired by the Holy Spirit, says to do this.

There had been divisions among them because some of them said they were following Paul, some Apollos, some Cephas and some Christ.  Of course a Christian is one who follows the Lord Jesus and His teaching and example.  But of course He isn't here in the flesh today and everyone will have their own preference of teachers or leaders.  You will prefer one church above another.  However the key is to remain in the love of God and avoid strife and divisions.  To keep from arguing about your faith and individual preferences.

This doesn’t mean that you compromise your beliefs and believe what others believe just for the sake of unity.  You must follow in your own heart what you believe the Lord has shown you to be true for that is true faith.  But this verse tells us to join together in mind and judgment.  We must all seek the Lord with an open heart in order to do this sincerely and without hypocrisy.

Confession:

I will do my part to keep from divisions in the body.  I will do my part to think and speak in unity within the body of Christ without being fake about it.

Obedience is a tree of life!
