Glorify God, not men
1 Corinthians 3:21

21: Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours;

This verse is a continuation of yesterday's verse where he's talking about those who think they are wise.  The reason he is on this subject at all is to address the church at Corinth's arguing over which leader they are following and who is better.  God is the one who gifts a person to be a leader or a teacher (or any gift).  The ministerial gifts are given to the church to encourage, strengthen and teach.  He's warning them here not to boast in a man or think that a certain man is so much better than another because whatever gift anyone has they received it from the Lord.  They are not anything special because they have that gift.  All glory belongs to the Lord.

God gives you all things–including the gifts that are within others.  He is the one you need to give thanks to for those gifts.

Confession:

I will appreciate all the things the Lord has given to me.  Including the gifts of godly men and women.  However I will not glorify those people but I glorify God for all the good things He’s given to me.

Obedience is a tree of life!
