No unrighteousness in the Kingdom
1 Corinthians 6:9-10

 

9:Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God?  Do not be deceived (misled); neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality,
10: Nor cheats–swindlers and thieves; nor greedy graspers, nor drunkards, nor foulmouthed revilers and slanderers, nor extortioners and robbers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God.  (Amplified Bible)


The point here is not to be deceived.  Those who commit these sins will not inherit the Kingdom of God.  In verse 11 he gives encouragement to those who have done these things in the past.  He says that even though some of you have done these things, you were washed, atoned for, consecrated and justified by believing in Jesus Christ. 

But again, he says not to be deceived about this.  It is possible to be deceived about this or he wouldn’t have said not to be deceived.  Even though forgiveness and sanctification is available through Jesus Christ, the fact remains that the unrighteous shall not inherit the Kingdom of God.

 

Confession:

Thank God that since I trust and believe in Jesus Christ I am washed, sanctified and justified by His Name and by the Spirit of God.  But I will not be deceived.  I will remember that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
