1 Corinthians 7:10-15

10: And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:
11: But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.
12: But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
13: And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
14: For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
15: But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.

Basically, Paul is saying if you’re married then stay married.  Or if one leaves then stay unmarried or be reconciled to your spouse at a later time.

The Bible doesn’t allow for Christians (if both parties are believers), to divorce and remarry, except in cases of fornication.  If one leaves (let’s say in a case of abuse) then he says to stay unmarried or be reconciled.  If one is an unbeliever that’s different but between two Christians it’s clear God desires them to stay married or separate without remarriage.

Paul says that in his opinion if a believer has an unbelieving spouse that is willing to stay in the marriage then let her / him stay.  But he says if the unbelieving one depart then let him/her depart.

Confession:

Married:  I will endeavor to see that my marriage is all that God wants it to be.  I will pray for my spouse that God’s plans and purposes be fulfilled in his / her life.  I will encourage my spouse and I will seek the Lord to become the husband / wife that God wants me to be.

Unmarried / Divorced: I will abide by the Word of God concerning God’s instructions for marriage.  I will seek God’s will for my life within the confines of His Word.

Obedience is a tree of life!
