1: We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to
please ourselves. The "strong", the "spiritual", the "mature" and the "greatest" in Gods kingdom are those who are a servant. If you believe you are spiritually strong then you should use that strength to help bear the infirmities of the weak rather than using your strength for your own pleasure. The word 'infirmity' here implies a moral or ethical weakness rather than a physical one. One who is having doubts or hesitations about what is the right thing to do. Its not about each of us individually becoming a spiritual giant apart from others in Christ. We are to strengthen those around us as well. The body functions better if all the muscles are evenly exercised rather than having some muscles that are not proportionately strengthened with the others. We all need to grow together. You may be confident and experienced in following your conscience but there may be those who aren't quite so confident and they need to be encouraged to follow their heart and learn to hear the Lord speaking to them. You don't want to use your influence to get them to do what you think is right, but to help them hear and follow what the Lord is saying to their heart. This not only strengthens them, but the body of Christ as a whole.
I will use my strength to help those that are weak in the areas I am strong. I will not seek to become a spiritual giant superior to those around me.
Obedience is a tree of life!
