The gift of teaching is just that.  A gift to teach.  It also implies learning.  Those who teach must first learn.  They teach what they learn from God.  They will receive revelation and insight from the Holy Spirit into God’s Word.  They enjoy learning and then imparting what they learn to others.

This word ‘teaching’ is the same word used in the gospels to say Jesus went around teaching the people.  Jesus taught what He received from the Father through the Holy Spirit.

Those who are motivated with a desire to teach enjoy researching and learning.  As a Bible Teacher, they have a great joy in understanding the Word of God and helping others to understand as well.  They are careful to base everything on scripture and use the Word of God accurately.

Again, here it’s really saying to wait on teaching.  To fully expect the opportunity to teach to be there if you have a teaching gift.

The gift of teaching is a God-given gift in the body of Christ.  I receive from the instruction and impartation of knowledge God gives to me through this gift.
