The gift of giving seems to imply an impartation. It implies an association between the giver and the recipient. It’s not a blind, uninvolved, uncaring giving. It’s an involved giving. The giver is told to give with simplicity, or you could say sincerely and generously but not with a self-seeking motive. This goes along with 2 Corinthians 9:6-7 which encourages us to give bountifully but not grudgingly for God loves a cheerful giver. There are those who love to give to meet the needs of others. They love to give as an answer to prayer. They love to give the best. And they love to give for the furtherance of the Gospel. God has gifted some people to be givers. That doesn’t mean that all Christians shouldn’t give for God tells all of us to give. And all Christians will reap what they sow! But there are those who are specially equipped with this gift to help meet people’s needs.
Confession: The gift of giving is a God-given gift in the body of Christ. I thank
God for this gift and when I give I give bountifully but not grudgingly. I
am a cheerful giver and receiver.
Obedience is a tree of life!
