Ruling
Romans 12:8

  1. ... he that ruleth, with diligence; ...

The gift of ruling is a gift to preside over something.  As the husband presides over the home, one with a gift of ruling presides over something this person has authority over.  This is a God-given gift and just because one is in a position of authority doesn’t necessarily mean God has given him/her the gift.  Those with the gift should be put in the position.

This person is told to rule with diligence.  Strong’s Concordance defines the word diligence as; with speed, eagerness, dispatch, earnestness.  This person is to deal with things quickly and not let them build up and get out of hand.  This person is to do a complete and thorough job of the tasks set before him, and is gifted by God to do just that.

Those gifted in this leadership gift will have a vision or a goal from the Lord.  Along with that will be the wisdom to carry it out.  These people will accept a challenge and will be able to do things others may not think is possible.  For this reason, they need to learn to communicate their vision and goals to others.  A person mature in this gift understands that a goal will not be accomplished overnight and has the patience and diligence to continue to do what's necessary to maintain things as they should be.  This person understands the importance of sticking to the principles of the Kingdom of God as a way of life and business.

Confession:

The gift of ruling is a God-given gift in the body of Christ.  I thank God for this gift and I recognize this gift and those operating in it within the body.

Obedience is a tree of life!
