9:... Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. The Amplified Bible says, "...hate what is evil (loathe all ungodliness, turn in horror from wickedness), but hold fast to that which is good."In order for you to think and behave like God does you will need to hate and turn from evilfrom ungodliness and wickedness. If you still look at some of the things unbelievers do for fun as fun, then chances are you haven’t turned from evil. Some of the entertainment, jokes and priorities of unbelievers are contrary to the methods of the Kingdom of God. As a born-again who yields to the nature of God inside of you, your desire will be to turn from evil and cleave to good. It won't feel good, for example, to have fun if it hurts someone else or feeds an attitude of greed, arrogance, self-centeredness or lust. Again, this is not outwardly conforming to a set of rules without an inward change of heart, this is allowing God to change your heart and to walk in the reality of your new divine nature.
Confession: I hate evil. I turn from it. I turn away from ungodliness and wickedness. I cleave to that which is good. I allow the desires of my new born-again nature to flourish rather than the selfish desires of my flesh.
Obedience is a tree of life!
