Not evil for evil
Romans 12:17-18

17: Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18: If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Have you ever been tempted to repay a wrong done to you by doing a wrong back to them?   We all have.  When someone hurts us or does something wrong to us, our natural feelings want to get back at them.  To get even.  If you don’t, people may tell you that you let people walk all over you.  But God says not to repay evil with evil.

Instead we should seek to provide things honest in the sight of all men, or to do the right and proper thing in front of everyone.  As far as you’re concerned, live peaceably with everyone.  Some people don’t want to live peaceably with anyone and there’s not much you can do about that but you do your part to live peaceably with everyone.

Confession:

I will not return evil for evil.  I will live peaceably with everyone.  I will do that which is right and treat people as God desires me to treat them.

Obedience is a tree of life!
