January 26 21: Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. The fact that he says don’t be overcome of evil means that you don’t have to let it happen! You can overcome evil with good. This is good news and applies to as many different situations as you can imagine. The true question often is not whether you are able to overcome the evil facing your life, but if you want to overcome it.Good overcomes evil just as light overcomes darkness. The night sky never stops the sun from rising. When you walk into a room and turn on the light the darkness goes. There are no ‘darkness switches’ that chase out the light. The light always overcomes the darkness. Good always overcomes evil. And if you want to live a righteous life, God has given you whatever it is you need to do it.
Confession: I overcome evil with good. I will not let evil overcome me!
