1. I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

We don’t offer up animal sacrifices today but we are told to present our bodies a living sacrifice to God.  That is our "reasonable service" considering what He’s done for us.  Basically a sacrifice is something that is offered out of respect or to please another who is considered greater.  Being a living sacrifice means that you present yourself to God to do His will rather than your own.  You recognize His way of living as the greater way and seek to make that your own.

These verses say to present yourself to Him and not conform to the world.  For you to live this way that God desires rather than how the world lives, you need to be changed by the renewing of your mind.  As you change your thinking to line up with God’s way of thinking, then you’ll be able to live according to His way--the way of the Kingdom.
