Fight the Good Fight
1 Timothy 6:12

  1. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

He says to fight the good fight of faith and to lay hold on eternal life to which we are called.  We are called to eternal life.  That is God’s desire for us—to have eternal life.

We’re told to lay hold of it.  Notice he doesn’t say to pray for God to give it to us.  He says to lay hold of it.  God has provided many things for us through Jesus Christ.  All that was provided for us by Jesus dying and rising again is available for all of us.  We don’t need to pray for God to give it to us.  He already has given it!  But we need to lay hold of it.  We need to fight the good fight of faith.

There are things we need to do to receive it.  It’s up to us now to fight, to lay hold and profess.  Fight the good fight of faith and remember it’s a good fight.

 

Confession:

Thank-You Father God for calling me to eternal life.  I lay hold of it.  I will fight the good fight of faith.  I will lay hold of eternal life and profess a good profession before many witnesses.  I will not give up and quit. I will continue in all that God has for me!
