July 3 2 Thessalonians 2:15
15: Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle. He had just got done telling them about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ and about the wicked one to be revealed. He’s just told them that those who did not love the truth would be deceived and damned because they had pleasure in unrighteousness and didn’t believe the Truth. He says in verse 13 they are saved through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the Truth. He says in verse 14 that they are called to obtain or share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. So here in verse 15 he says, ‘therefore’. In other words, because of what he just said and because of this deception that goes on with those who do not love and believe the Truth, stand fast and hold to the traditions you’ve been taught. Not the traditions apart from the Word but the tradition or instruction given from God. As we hold fast to the Word of God we will be able to stand against deception by loving, knowing and believing the Truth.
Confession: I will stand fast and hold on to the teaching I’ve received from the Word of God. I will stick to the Word of God. I will love and believe the Truth and because of that I’ll not be deceived. Obedience is a tree of life!
