July 30 1 Timothy 6:14
We’re to keep all His precepts unsullied (without stain, undefiled), flawless and irreproachable (without shame or blame). This about sums it up. To keep His commandments without blame and without flaw should be the goal of every Christian. If we could (or would), keep His Word flawlessly we would be pleasing our Heavenly Father in every situation. We would be doing, as Jesus said, "always those things that please Him." (John 8:29). His Word would always be active in our lives. His presence would always be evident! The good thing about this is that He wouldn’t tell us to do something if He has not enabled us to do it. He wouldn’t say, "Keep My Commandments flawlessly" if He hadn’t equipped us to do so. If we don’t think we can do it we are defeated before we even start. Have you ever had a teacher that asked you on the first day of class what grade you expected to receive and then no matter how you did in the class that was the grade he gave you? Our expectations have a lot to do with our success. The very fact that He said to do it means we can do it! He’ll still forgive us if we mess up if we ask Him to (1 John 1:9), but thank God He has given us His Word saying we can do this so we can!
Confession: The Word of God says to keep His Commandments flawlessly. I will do so by the power of His Word and His Spirit within me.
Obedience is a tree of life!
