Undistracted in Prayer
Colossians 4:2-3

 

  1. Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving:
  2. Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

Verse 2 in the Amplified Bible says to be earnest and unwearied and steadfast in your prayer life being both alert and intent in your praying with thanksgiving.

Earnest, unwearied and steadfast. Being both alert and intent.  That sounds like purposeful, focused and persistent prayer.

Don’t get distracted from your life of prayer.  Don’t get off focus from continuing in an attitude of seeking the Lord and communing with Him.  There are many things that would try and distract us from the things of God.  Even ‘good’ things. Even being busy in church can keep us distracted from a life of prayer.

We must never give up seeking our Heavenly Father and continually striving to accomplish His will in the earth.  Our prayer should continually be, as Jesus said, "Your kingdom come, Your will be done in Earth as it is in Heaven." (Matthew 6:10).

 

Confession:

I purpose to continue in prayer.  To be earnest, unwearied and steadfast in prayer.  I purpose to be alert and intent in my prayers with thanksgiving.

 

Obedience is a tree of life!
