June 15 1 Thessalonians 4:1-2
There are things we ‘ought to do’ and ways we ‘ought to walk’. To walk according to Strong's Concordance is to "tread all around," "walk at large (especially as proof of ability)," "to live, deport oneself, follow." To walk pleasing to God is to live our lives, conduct ourselves and behave everywhere in a way pleasing to Him. Paul says here that they had received from them how to walk and please God. We receive from the Word of God and from the Spirit of God how to walk and live our lives pleasing to Him. Spending time in the Word will reveal to us how we ought to walk. The Word of God will show us how to live a life pleasing to God as well as showing us how to live victoriously.
Confession: I will walk as I ought to walk. I desire to please God with my life and I determine to receive from His Word how to do that.
Obedience is a tree of life!
