Increase in Love More and More
1 Thessalonians 4:9-10

 

  1. But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
  2. And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more:


He encourages them by telling them that they have already extended their love throughout Macedonia.  But he exhorts them to increase in this love more and more.  In verse 9 he says they are ‘taught of God to love one another".  God Himself teaches us how to love.  We can’t operate in His love without receiving it from Him.  We just can’t.  We must receive His love ourselves and then that love ministers life and healing to us and through us.

As He reveals more and more of His love to us we can and will abound in it more and more.  God will reveal His love for people to you.  When you have a revelation of His love for a particular person or people in general your heart will be filled with love for them.  You won’t want them to hurt.  You’ll be able to forgive them if they wrong you.  You’ll know and experience the love of God for them.

This is the kind of love He has give to us and wants us to reach out to others with.

 

Confession:

I receive God’s love for me.  Thank You Father for loving me.  Thank You Jesus for dying for me.  Thank You for sending Your Holy Spirit and filling my heart with Your love.  Father, give me a revelation of Your love for myself and for others.

 

Obedience is a tree of life!
