Edify one another
1 Thessalonians 5:9-11

  1. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
  2. Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
  3. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

Again he says to comfort yourselves and edify one another.  It’s a comfort to know that God’s children will be delivered from His wrath.  God will not pour out His wrath on His children.  There is a judgment coming and a wrath coming upon the Earth but God’s people will not suffer His wrath.

This is a great comfort.  He also says to edify one another—to build each other up.  We’re to help each other and encourage each other to continue in the ways of the Lord to stay strong spiritually in order to overcome the things that come against us.

As Christians we shouldn’t have an ‘every man for himself’ attitude but we should comfort and encourage each other as well.

Confession:

Thank You Father God that I am delivered from Your wrath!  I will comfort others and encourage them to continue in Your ways.  I will do my part to receive strength from You and to strengthen others as well.

Obedience is a tree of life!
