Continue in Prayer
1 Thessalonians 5:17

What does it mean to pray without ceasing?  We know he doesn’t mean to pray 24 hours a day non stop because that would be impossible.  But we can continue in a life of prayer.  The word ‘pray’ in this scripture in the Greek according to Strong's Concordance means to "Pray to God" to "supplicate, worship".  To supplicate is to humbly ask for something.  We could say then to pray without ceasing is to continue in an attitude of worshipping Him, seeking Him, and petitioning Him.  To stay in communication with Him.

We really need to stay in communion with the Lord.  It’s vital for us to pray in order for Him to be able to give us guidance and direction for our life.  If we say we are a Christian and yet don’t pray, how can we follow that path which He has for us?  If He is our Lord, we need to hear from Him.  If He is our Lord, we need to present ourselves to Him.

I will continue in prayer.  I will continue to worship the Lord, to seek Him and petition Him.  I will not stop!  I will continue and will do all that He sets before me to do.
