In Everything Give Thanks
1 Thessalonians 5:18

 

  1. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.


In everything give thanks not for everything.  We thank God in every situation we are in because we need to focus on Him.  We thank Him in sickness because He’s the healer.  We thank Him in times of trouble because He’s our deliverer.  We don’t thank Him for the sickness or the trouble, we thank Him in our situation that He is the answer!

We also thank Him in good times.  We don’t allow our circumstances, good or bad, to dictate when we should thank Him.  We praise and worship Him no matter what our current situation is.

The whole idea behind giving thanks is that you are thanking Him for something He’s done.  You don’t say ‘thank you’ to someone who hasn’t done anything.  He has done so much for us and we need to continually thank Him for it.

 

Confession:

Father God, I thank You for everything You have done for me.  Not for everything but for everything You’ve done.  Thank You that You are my Savior, Healer and Deliverer!
