Whatever You Do
Colossians 3:17

Whatever you do.  No matter what it is.  If it’s words or actions, do all in His name, giving thanks to the Father.  He mentions both words and deeds.  He’s not just talking about what we do but what we say also.  And he’s not just saying when you do or say something good to do it in His name.  Whatever you do.  We should always represent Jesus Christ in what we say and do.

We are not supposed to lay aside our representation of Him at times so we can say and do things He wouldn’t like.  Whatever we do—Everything we do.  All of it should be done in His name.

We’re able to do this if we do what the verse prior to this says to do and let His Word dwell richly in us.  God knows we can’t do this in our own strength.  He knows that, that’s why Jesus died for us.  Jesus conquered sin and gave us His life so we are able to live victoriously as well!

In all that I do I want to represent Jesus.  In all that I say I want to represent Him.  Whatever I say and do, I do in His name giving thanks to the Father.
