Taking our Place
Colossians 3:18-21

 

  1. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.
  2. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
  3. Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is wellpleasing unto the Lord.
  4. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

Again, we have the instructions concerning husbands and wives, children and parents.  The family relationships show how if everyone does their part and is obedient to the Lord concerning their position in the family then the whole family will function together well.  As each of us take our place in our family situation and in our church family, our workplace and in the body of Christ as a whole then our church and the whole body of Christ will be able to function as God intends.

Rather than trying to be like someone else or functioning in a position other than where we’ve been placed, we need to accept our God-given place and function in it.  This is where God is glorified in our lives.  He won’t be glorified if we’re trying to function out of place.

All positions are important and we will accomplish the most for God and bring the most glory to Him and be the happiest when we are functioning where He called us to.

 

Confession:

I will take my place in my family, my workplace, my church and the body of Christ as a whole.  I’ll not try to function in a position God has not placed me in.

 

Obedience is a tree of life!
