9: Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. This is referring to Numbers 21 when the people of Israel spoke against God and Moses and said, ‘why didn’t you just leave us in Egypt to die?’ Many times when the Israelites complained because of the difficulties on the way to the Promised Land they would say they wanted to go back to Egypt to die. After all the miraculous things the Lord did for them to provide for them they would seem to forget all that and start murmuring and complaining. This should be an example to us that God is not pleased with that. He calls it tempting Him. When you're tempted to complain, remember all the good things the Lord has done for you and have faith that He will continue to do them.
Confession: I will remember all the good things the Lord has done for me. I will press on in faith trusting Him to provide in my journey of life.
Obedience is a tree of life!
