Wait for one another
1 Corinthians 11:33-34

33: Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.
34: And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.

He’s still talking about the Lord’s Supper here.  He said that when they came together to eat—or to partake of communion--- to wait for each other.  If anyone was hungry then they should eat at home first so they would be able to properly discern the body and blood of the Lord represented by communion.  If you’re hungry when partaking of communion, then that may be a distraction to you, causing you to think of it more as food than as the Lord’s body.

So as we wait for each other, we are helping each other to prepare ourselves to properly receive communion.  Let's not be in a rush, but willing to take the time we need in order to show the Lord the respect He deserves.

We should never become so comfortable with the sacrifice Jesus made for us that we lose our appreciation for the terrible things He suffered for us.

Confession:

I will prepare myself to receive the Lord’s Supper so I don’t just think of it as another meal.  I will help my brothers and sisters to prepare themselves as well.  I will respectfully remember what the Lord has done for me.

Obedience is a tree of life!
