Learning from Murmuring
1 Corinthians 10:10-11

10: Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
11: Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

The Israelites murmured often.  It says here some of them murmured and were destroyed by the destroyer.  They opened the door for all kinds of trouble by their murmuring and complaining.

People may think that this was part of God’s plan for them-to suffer all these troubles in order to learn.  But they opened the door to trouble themselves by murmuring.  They were destroyed by the destroyer.

You can learn something today from the troubles they went through back then.  You can learn the ways of God.  Rather than going through unnecessary trouble today, learn whatever you can from what God’s people have already gone through.

Confession:

I will listen and learn from what has happened to God’s people in the past.  I will pay attention to  how God says to live.  I will endeavor to bring glory and praise to God and not displeasure.

Obedience is a tree of life!
