Guidelines for Prophets
1 Corinthians 14:29-30

29: Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
30: If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.

He’s giving guidelines for those with a prophetic gift speaking a prophetic word in the church.  Again, he says to let two or three speak and let another judge what is said.  If one receives a revelation from the Lord, let the first one be silent.  It's not about just one person being used by God.  The purpose of these gifts is for everyone to be edified.  The person with the gift is not meant to be glorified, but God is to get the glory for speaking to a group of believers.

In verse 32 Paul says basically that the prophets have control over themselves and are able to be quiet if necessary in order to maintain order.  The Spirit of God doesn’t come and take over a person to where they have no control over themselves.  Verse 33 says God is not the author of confusion but of peace.  And although God desires a church to flow with His Spirit He doesn’t want a church service to be chaotic.

Confession:

I realize God is a God of order and desires for there to be order in a church service.   I will do my part to maintain order as God uses me in the gifts of the Spirit without hindering the Spirit of God from moving as freely as He wants to.

Obedience is a tree of life!
