37: If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

If a person claims to be a prophet or a spiritual person having revelation and insight into the things of God, then that person is to acknowledge the Word of God as being the commandments of the Lord.

If someone ever has a "revelation" from the Lord that is not in agreement with the Word of God then that "revelation" is not from God.  God will never give a revelation that is contrary to His written Word.

Confession:

I will not receive revelations that are contrary to the written Word of God.  I will judge everything according to God’s Word.
